The Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh has released a variety of summer reading data. This page serves as a starting point for my exporation of this data. It will be updated over time with further analysis.
Exploratory data analysis corresponds to the work of investigating a dataset through the use of visualizations and statistical techniques, along with processing and deriving new types of data from existing data.
This phase does not generally seek to answer a specific question, but rather to arrive at an understanding of what questions we can ask given the available data.
Even if we have a particular question in mind, it's good to explore the data as it can not only reveal things we didn't anticipate, but it also helps to prevent us from systemic bias.
